Now faithfully translated from the second and best edition.’ Cipriano de Valera, a former Hieronymite friar, embraced the Reformation, fled Spain,and spent the rest of his life from 1559 in Elizabeth’s England as a fellow of Magdalen College, Cambridge. Neither his name, nor that of any translator, appears in the present work.
