Original Etchings from Antient [sic] & Modern Masters [title etching]

David Deuchar [1743-1808], a Scottich artist and engraver, was seal engraver to King James. His better-known work is A Collection of Etchings after the most Eminent Masters of Dutch and Flemish Schools particularly Rembrandt, Ostade, Cornelius Bega and Van Vliet Accompanied with Sundry Miscellaneous Pieces and a Few Original Designs by David Deuchar Seal Engraver. This collection includes 13 by Ostrade (signed in the plate), 2 by Rembrandt (one signed in the plate and dated 1646), and one by Cornelius Bega (signed in the plate). Deuchar’s etchings are signed in the plate and dated 1788
